BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1] is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her portrayal of Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, the Critics' Choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress Award for a Drama Series. In 2019, she appeared as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young's acting career began with theatre. In 1997 she made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the initial production of The Life. [8][9] In addition to making her Broadway debut, she has been seen off Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her TV debut with a role that she reprised in"The Other World," an NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. [7] She guest-starred on Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, in two roles. In 1999 she made her film debut by playing a small role in the crime drama Black and White and later was a co-star in a number of independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she was spotted in guest-starring characters on several television comedies and dramas such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young appeared on more than 30 television programs between the years 2000 to 2011.
