Personal highlights for Niykee include being selected by a scout to join Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs in spite of the chaos over the last few years. The songwriting process is a source of inspiration for hopeful producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and finds many songs that inspire her. In just 5 minutes that I know the beat's worthy of my time. After that, I get the idea of a complete song inside my head and start to write. When I am playing my guitar in my front yard I begin writing, and words flow. The majority times, it's completed in just about 30 minutes. Niykee says that when she matures as a singer-songwriter, the painful memories of her childhood are an inspiration. It's tough to forget the painful memories from my childhood, and especially the loss of my sister. They end up being integrated into her music. This influences my music and creates a deeper significance behind everything that is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I could listen to any one of my songs in 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I wrote.
